HOW HOYM STARTED
_The creator of Hold Onto Your Memories Jennifer Bada remembers
the transformation from film to the digital age. Over the years, as a
photographer, she always saved every
picture, and became known as the archivist. When her grandfather passed
away she was lucky enough to discover all of his memories from WWII.
This included his photos of the war in France, Germany and England, his
medals, his letters, and newspaper clippings. She digitally preserved
all of these historical items and compiled this into one spectacular
slideshow. Everyone in her family was so excited to see this amazing
collection, and have a copy of their own. Now all the memories stored
away, came alive and are saved for generations to enjoy.
Jennifer Bada is a native Californian, and she has experienced earthquakes but never anything traumatic until a few years ago. Living in the canyons of California was another story. She was evacuated a few times from her home due to the unforgiving wildfires of southern California. One day she only had about five minutes to leave her home, she was only able to grab a few things, her dogs, a guitar, and her laptop computer which included all her photos that she had digitally preserved. Thankfully after her home was untouched, but others were not so lucky. As she watched the news about the fire, she saw numerous people that lost everything. They always seemed to say the same thing, they wished they didn’t loose their photos, its the one thing they will never be able to get back. These life experiences lead her to create the company HOLD ONTO YOUR MEMORIES. | HOYM NOW
THERE IS NO TIME LIKE THE PRESENT...
Old photos are priceless, but if you never see them, they're meaningless. Natural disasters such as wildfires, earthquakes, floods, mudslides, hurricanes, tornados, the family pet and the silent enemy of time are a fact of life that destroys your photos. We can’t prevent a tragedy, but we can preserve your precious photos today. When you only have minutes to flee you can rest assured you rescued your memories and made your pictures endure. People always say I will do it tomorrow, or nothing will happen to me, but tomorrow may be too late. Things are replaceable, photos are not they're priceless. One thing money can't buy is your photos. Once they are gone they are lost forever. Once they are preserved they are saved forever. Photos are memories of a moment in time captured by the camera. HOYM is extremly beneficial and exciting for everyone, especially seniors. Our services could enhance the seniors quality of life, by being able to enjoy their photos everyday. When people look at old photos of the past, it's a key to unlocking a person’s hidden memories. When the past is remembered it can be remarkably effective in stimulating ideas and responses today. A wealth of knowledge and experiences may be discovered, that might have been forgotten. CLIENTS KUDOS
Kudos from Dr. Alexander Rivkin, Cosmetic Surgeon
I just got a chance to look at the photos and they are absolutely outstanding. The level of color that you got out of these old slides was really great. I would not hesitate to recommend you guys to anyone - you are professional, reasonably priced and do great work, cheers. - Dr. Rivkin Testimonial from a Social Worker As a Social Worker who has worked with the elderly population in a South Florida nursing home and rehabilitation center, I feel it is essential to share photos and bring back memories to the residents. Having worked with many patients diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, I realized the importance of residents being able to see their family, friends and loved ones. As memory fades so often with age and with several diseases, seeing images that were saved from many years ago and seeing the residents' faces light up when you demonstrate family photos and portraits is invaluable. I can testify that keeping one’s memories active through photos is a wonderful way to recapture the joys and moments in many of the residents’ lives. I am a strong supporter of holding onto one’s memories and never forgetting the experiences relived in looking at a photograph. - Olga Liz NEWS STORIES
